Good morning Year 3!

I hope you all slept well and are ready for another great day of home learning today.

Here are your 3 activities for today:

1. English

We are going to finish our work on trolls by writing our own information text just like the example on pages 4 and 5. Read the text again to give you ideas for your own.

Remember to include your sub headings and interesting facts you have written over the last week. Don't forget to add pictures.

Start your writing in the same way as the example (below).

Many people believe trolls are angry, mean beasts that terrify goats and people. However, this is not true. Here is the truth about trolls.

This is your chance to show us your fantastic writing!

2. Maths

Today we are going to look at lesson 7 on fractions. Follow the link below. Select the lesson 'finding non-unit fractions of quantities'. Select 'start lesson'. Complete the quiz at the beginning. Then watch the video and complete the activities.

You might want to use small toys or objects to help with sharing out.

3. Geography

Last week was National Earth day. Look at the link below explaining why earth day is so important. It talks about the problems with global warming and what we can do to help.

Your job is to create a poster to show people what they could do to help our planet. For example, you might ask them to stop buying plastic bags in the supermarket. Try to make your poster colourful and bright.

For reading today we would like you to read a non-fiction book from your book bag. Can you summarise what the book was about?

Times tables

Continue to challenge yourself on Times Table Rockstars.
Please comment below or email to say hello, we love to hear from you. Don't forget to send in your lovely photos to year.3@ctk.education

Who will be our star of the day?
I look forward to hearing from you.

Miss Kingscote

Today's reflection

Well done Year 3! Lots of you have contacted us today through email or on the blog. It is so lovely to hear from so many of you and see all your fantastic photos. Keep it up! We are so proud of you and your brilliant work.

Our star of the day is Awele! I could pick Awele to be our star of the day every day of the week because every piece of work she does is completed neatly and to a fantastic standard. Today Awele has written her own information text all about trolls and produced a colourful poster to save our planet. Well done!

Below are some photos of your friends and their brilliant work.

Ayla has worked really hard today creating her poster, challenging herself with fractions and writing lovely stories.

Fidel has become a fractions expert and has produced a brilliant poster.

Fantastic work from Harley today. What a colourful poster!

Tiagan has created a beautiful fairy garden.

Leah has been busy baking brilliant cakes for key workers and writing a lovely story. How yummy do those cakes look?
