Welcome Back | Grasmere
Good morning Year 3!
I hope you have all had a good Easter and are keeping safe at home. Let us know what you've been doing over the Easter break. Did you have a go at making a time capsule? I look forward to seeing them and hearing all about your holiday.

Get your body moving with Joe Wicks this morning at 9am. Work off that Easter chocolate!

Here are your 3 activities for today:

1. Look at the picture of the two characters below. What do you think they would be saying to each other? Draw speech bubbles and write what they are saying to each other.

Use your speech bubbles to write down the conversation the characters are having using the correct punctuation. Remember to include your inverted commas (speech marks). Can you make the conversation funny?

2. We are going to create some shadow art.
Choose a toy or object that you would like to draw, something about the size of your hand. You will need a piece of paper and a pencil. Take these outside and put your paper down in the sunlight. Place your object on top of the paper. What do you notice? You should see that the object is blocking the sunlight and causing a shadow. Draw around the shadow on your piece of paper. Remember to add colour to bring your drawing to life.

3.Complete page 15 in your work packs. If you usually sit on super stars for maths complete column A. Complete column C if you would like to challenge yourself. Remember to start with the ones column.

I look forward to seeing your work today. Remember to comment below to say you have understood your tasks. Don't forget to email us with photos of your brilliant work to year.3@ctk.education

Remember to read your school books and beat your best score on TT Rockstars. I will be checking the leaderboard today.

Will you be our star of the day?

Have a great day!

Miss Kingscote
Today’s reflection
  •          It's been great to hear about all the lovely things you've been doing during your holidays.
  •         Thank you for sending in your fantastic work, it’s great to see you all working so hard. I always love to see your photos even if it's not work we have set you.
  •       Lots of brilliant jokes shared today in your speech bubbles. Harley’s made me laugh. What do you call a worm with no teeth? A gummy worm. Merit also made me laugh with her joke. What animal would you not want to play with? A cheetah.
  •      Keep up the great work!
My star of the day is Bernice! Over the holiday Bernice made a fantastic bridge out of recycled materials and decorated it with rainbows and stickers. Bernice has also been working hard with her maths work. Well done!

A massive well done to Leah for building an amazing tower using recycled materials. Very impressive! She has also been using chalks to create some lovely messages outside.

Declan's brilliant shadow art.
Merit making us laugh with her joke.
Great work from Maisie today.

Brilliant maths from Fidel.

Anta's been busy in the garden, creating shadow art and challenging herself with maths work.

Great art work and maths from Freya.

Fantastic work from Harley today.
