Good morning Year 3!

I hope you're all well and staying safe at home.

Wake yourself up with Joe Wick's or learn a new dance with GoNoodle.

Here are your 3 activities for today:

1. Today we are going to look at lesson 6 on fractions. Follow the link below. Select the lesson 'identify and describe non-unit fractions'. Select 'start lesson'. Complete the quiz at the beginning. Watch the video and complete the activities.

Hopefully you are starting to feel a little more confident with fractions.
2. For English today we are going to plan our information text that we will write tomorrow. Follow the link below to the text 'The Truth about Trolls'.

https://www.talk4writing.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Y3-Unit.pdf

As you reread the text on pages 4 and 5 look at the structure of the text and the sub headings they use. We are going to be focusing on pages 14 and 15 today. Look at the sub headings on page 14 or think of your own.  Use the plan on page 15 to decide what you will write in your information text under each sub heading.

Think about:
-what your troll looks like
-what they eat
-where it lives
-interesting or funny facts

3. Today we are going to be coding using scratch (follow the link below). Watch the tutorial video to understand how to code your sprite (character). Can you make your sprite  move across the screen and make a noise. Can you change the backdrop? Have a play around and see what else you can do. You can watch some other tutorials to see what else you can learn.

Don't forget to challenge yourself on Timetable Rock Stars. Read your favourite school book to your teddy today. I'm sure they would love to hear your brilliant reading.

I look forward to seeing all of your fantastic work. Make sure you say hello in the comments or email to say how you are getting on. We always love to see your photos. Email them in to year.3@ctk.education

Who will be our star of the day?

Have a great day,

Miss Kingscote

Today's reflection:
Today has been a quieter day today, I haven't heard from as many of you as normal. If you are having any problems with any links or you are finding something difficult, let us know and we can guide you through it.

Well done to those who have commented on the blog or sent in photos, it is so lovely to hear from you. Remember we love to see any photos of the exciting things you've been doing, this might be baking, cooking or playing outside. Also, i'm sure your friends love to see your photos too!

Declan is our star of the day! He has been learning important life skills and baking chocolate chip cookies. I hope you saved us some!

Below are some photos of the fantastic work that your friends have done today.

Anta has created a lovely rainbow today.

Harley persevered with his work today despite finding it difficult in places. Trying our best and not giving up is so important. Well done!

Merit has been working hard completing her fractions work.

Bernice has completed all of her work to a fantastic standard today. Brilliant effort!
