Good morning Year 3!

Happy Friday! It's nearly the weekend and time for us to relax. It has been another successful week of home learning.

Will you be our star of the day?

Have a look at yesterday's blog to see the brilliant work your friends sent in.

Here are your 3 activities for today:

1. English

As it's Friday we are going to do some creative writing. We are going to write an adventure story using interesting verbs. It is your choice what you write about today. Don't forget your paragraphs!

My story is going to be about a young boy who creates an airplane to fly around the world exploring new places. What will happen in your story?

I look forward to reading them.

2. Maths

Listen to and sing along with our Mr Searle's times table songs. Click on the links below.

As you know, we focus on the 3, 4 and 8's times tables in Year 3. Listen to the songs and sing along. You can teach a sibling or a grown up at home our catchy songs. Remember to try and do it without looking.

When you have practised them, log into TT Rockstars and use the songs to help you.

I have changed the link to the times tables above. It should be working now (fingers crossed). I have also downloaded the songs and emailed them as attachments to the email addresses I have.

3. D.T

Design and create a mode of transport (boat, car or train) to help you in your adventure story. You can use whatever you have available to you. It be a cardboard box, toilet roll tubes or a plastic container. You decide what you will design based on your creative writing story.

Complete page 42 in your paper work packs. Complete the ‘what’s out in space?’ comprehension.

Don't forget to comment to say hello on the blog or email to tell us how you are. We LOVE to see your photos of what you've been doing. Yesterday was a great day, you sent in so much. Email us at year.3@ctk.education

I hope you have a fantastic Friday! I look forward to seeing all your brilliant work later.

Today's reflection:

Yet another brilliant week of home learning. You have worked so hard this week, I have been so impressed with your attitude towards your learning. I have loved seeing all of your photos. We are so proud of you all!

As you may have seen, we are going to start using zoom videos next week. Your grown ups have all been sent a text with the information. They need to call the office and give permission for you to take part. We will let you know the day and time next week. Mrs Miller and I are really looking forward to seeing you all and will be a lovely chance for you to see your friends.

We have two stars of the day because I just couldn't decide.

Our first star of the day is Maisie! This is just a selection of Maisie's brilliant work. Despite a difficult week, Maisie has produced fantastic work and completed all activities to a brilliant standard. Maisie's adventure story is creative, neat and well thought through. Also, what lovely handwriting! GO MAISIE!

Our second star of the day is Awele. WOW WOW WOW! Awele's story today is incredible. Her handwriting is fantastic, she has included speech and paragraphs. I am so proud.

Fidel has written a brilliant story, designed a car and even baked some delicious goodies. Well done Fidel. You are a superstar!

Calvin has written a brilliant adventure story. What wonderful joined handwriting!
Harley has written a great adventure story and designed his boat. He has also been practising his times tables using Mr Searle's songs as you can see in the video below. Keep it up!

Freya has written a brilliant story today. This is just the first page, she is still busy beavering away on the second page.

Bernice has worked hard today.

    1. Are you able to click on the link? It should take you to google drive and then if you double click a song, it should open in a separate tab. If this doesn't work, email the above address and we can try and sort out the problem.

  5. A few people are having the same issue with the link (see above). We are trying to fix this. Will update you when we have (hopefully) sorted it.
