Good morning Year 3!

Happy Friday! I feel like this week has gone very quickly. I hope you enjoy your last day of home learning before the weekend.

Here are your activities:

English

Turn to page 15 in your booklet. Our explorer writes instructions on how to uncover a Soupee bird. Today, we are going to write our own instructions on how to uncover a special animal in our jungle. It could be a made up animal or a real one. You could also make it funny, if you like. What mysterious, rare creature would you love to see up close?

 Remember to include

  • Introduction to the animal you will uncover
  • What you will need
  • What to do in numbered steps
  • Any warnings- perhaps it's dangerous

Maths

Today is lesson 10 on angles and shapes. Click on the link below and scroll down. Lesson 10 is titled 'to identify rectangles including squares'. Watch the video and complete the activities.

Reading

Today is our final lesson on 'You're a Bad Man, Mr Gum'. Reread extract 2 and complete activity 3. What do you think will happen next?

P.E

Complete our Virtual Summer School Challenge for this week. Your job is to practise the challenge as much as you can until you achieve your best score. This weeks challenge is called Speed Bounces. The video explains what you have to do. How many bounces can you do in 1 minute?

Let us know your score. If you want to take part in the competition (scroll down to yesterday's blog to find out more) let me know when you tell us how many bounces you achieved.

Times tables

Log in to TT Rock stars today for 10 minutes to challenge yourself. Who will make our top 5 this week? I will be checking.

Will you be our star of the day?

As always, please comment below to say hello or email us at year.3@ctk.education to tell us how you are and send in your lovely pictures. We would love to hear from you. This allows us to know you are safe and well.

Have a great day,

Miss Kingscote

Today's reflection

A very quiet day of home learning today. Well done to those children who have been in contact and have sent in their lovely work. I hope you have a lovely weekend!

Our star of the day is Awele. Her jungle log is absolutely brilliant and beautifully illustrated. Also, today she has written her own ending to Mr Gum's story and completed all of her maths work, she has put in so much effort. Fantastic!

Harley has worked so hard today completing all of his work. He has completed the Virtual Summer challenge for this week too. He is also proudly holding his world record certificate for taking part in the 'Draw with Rob's' world record attempt. Fabulous!

Great jumping. You definitely are working your socks off!

Have a look at Fidel's incredible work today. I think chocolate coated bananas would definitely encourage the flying gorilla to come out of hiding.

Two days worth of work from Bernice. She has been working hard at home.
