Welcome back! We hope you had a lovely half term break and have enjoyed the wonderful sunshine. I have enjoyed going to the park and reading my book outside. The weather has been so nice! What did you get up to?
This week is a little strange for us all. As lots of you will know, some of our friends in other year groups are going back to school this week. But in order to keep safe, we are staying at home and continuing with our home learning.
Who will be our star of the day?
Here are your activities:
English
This week we are continuing with our 'Journey to the Jungle' text from last term. Reread the 'Jungle Log' on page 3. Today we are going to complete the activity on page 10. You are going to imagine you have stepped into a jungle. You are going to draw what you would see when you look through your telescope. What would you call your jungle?
Challenge: Can you write a descriptive paragraph using interesting adjectives to describe your jungle?

Maths
We are going to continue to focus on angles and shape. Follow the link below and scroll down to lesson 6 'identify perpendicular lines'. Complete the quiz and watch the video to learn all about perpendicular lines.

Spanish
Today we are going to learn some Spanish greetings. Watch the video below. Ben Shires and some familiar Spanish footballers will help you learn some key phrases. Can you have a conversation with someone in your family in Spanish using your new phrases?

Reading
We are going to choose 3 brand new books from the Oxford Owl online library. Follow the link below. Select 'my class login' at the top. Type in the username and password below.

Now you can choose 3 new reading books, remember to choose a mix of non-fiction and fiction. Select the appropriate age group, I would suggest age 7-9 or 6-7.
When you have read your new book today, ask an adult or older sibling to ask you these questions. Let us know which book you read.
Fiction:
What has happened in this story?
What might happen next? Why do you think this?
What was the most interesting part of the book?
Would you recommend this book to a friend?
Non-fiction:
What is this book about?
What makes this book different from a story?
Tell me two things you found out about that you didn't know before.
Would you recommend this book to a friend?
Times tables
Log in to TT Rockstars today for 10 minutes to challenge yourself. You might make it to our top 5 this week!
As always, please comment below to say hello and tell us all about your half term or email us at year.3@ctk.education to tell us how you are and send in your lovely pictures. We would love to hear from you. This allows us to know you are safe and well and answer any questions you might have.
Have a lovely day,
Miss Kingscote
