Good morning Year 3!

I hope you're well. Did you hear the thunder last night? Hopefully the sun will come back soon.

Who will be our star of the day?

Here are your activities:

Warm up

If you haven't completed our Summer Games challenge yet, today is your opportunity. Your job is to practise the 'Tuck In, Tuck Out' challenge as much as you can until you achieve your best score. The video explains what you have to do. How many can you do in 1 minute?

Let me know your best score and share any photos/video of you completing the challenge. You have until tomorrow to let me know your best score.

English

Read the poem 'Lockdown park' on pages 16 and 17. Complete the matching activity on page 18. These are all words from the poem, you need to find a synonym (word that has the same meaning).

Maths

We are going to be following on with our work on measurement. Scroll down to lesson 2 on measure. Today's lesson is called Measure: to read mass on a scale. Watch the video and complete the activities.

Reading

Read the story 'The boy with a wobbly tooth', written by Oliver H. The story is found on the BBC Radio 2 website using the link below. You can also listen to the story.

Do you think it was a dream or real life? Why?
How would you feel if you were Matthew?
What does 'bewildered' mean?

DT

This is a surprise activity, shhh...

Sunday is ‘Father’s Day’.  Why don’t you make a card for someone special in your life?  You can make a card for your dad, grandad or brother or someone else who is important to you. Tell them how special they are to you.

Here are some ideas.

Please remember to comment below or send us an email to let us know how you are. Also, keep sending in your wonderful photos to year.3@ctk.education

Have a lovely day,

Miss Kingscote

Today's reflection

Well done for another great day of home learning. A quieter day today, we haven't heard from as many of you. Remember we love to see anything you are doing at home, whether that's school work or any fun things you would like to share. It's lovely to see what our friends have been doing.

Take a look at what your friends have been up to.

Our star of the day is Fidel. He has made a wonderful card for Father's Day. He has also completed all of his work to the best of his ability. Well done, Fidel!

Brilliant work from Bernice.

Harley has worked really hard today. Another lovely card, fab writing and maths!

A wonderful poem from Merit. Great work!

  1. Hi everyone, I heard the thunder, it was very loud.
I’m going to have a day inside, doing housework and then watching a film with Alice.
